Memorials in Chennai

     This memorial has been erected in Memory of Shri Rajagopalachari, the first Governor General of India, popularly called Rajaji. It was opened by Shri. Jayaprakash Narayan, presided over by Shri.M. Karunanithi, the Chief Minister of Tamilnadu on 5-5-1975.

     It is Located at Sardar Vallabhai Patel Road, Opp. to Anna University, Guindy, Chennai. The Rajaji memorial spreads over 3.1 acre, of which the building area is 476.60 square meters. Inside the Memorial there is a chest height statue of Rajaji. There is also a Museum and Library containing photographs and all items related to his life. The Museum and Library was opened by His Excellency the Governor of Tamil Nadu Mr.S.L. Khurana on 2-10-1987.
