23 July 2008 Patna : 8 killed and 30 others missing in two separate boat mishaps in Bihar's Purnia and Supaul districts on Wednesday.

     A country boat capsized in the swollen Kosi river at Kanpghat village in Bihar's Purnia district. Eight persons were drowned and 12 others missing in this incident.

     In the other incident, 18 people were feared to have drowned when an over-crowded boat capsized in Supaul district. The boat was sailing from Rasuar-Navtoli village to Nirmal when it sank.

     The threat of floods is looming large in several districts of north Bihar following incessant rains for the past several days in neighbouring Nepal.
