Dakshina Chitra is a unique Heritage village situated at Muttukadu on the new Mamallapuram Coastal Road, 20km from Chennai. The Arts and Crafts village, Dakshina chitra narrate the story of the South Indian Culture. The Tamil history, language and way of life can be experienced with a guided tour.

     The Crocodile Bank is situated some 42 kilometres from the Chennai city. Mahabalipuram lies 14 kilometres further south from Crocodile Bank.      Birla Planetarium features a fully computerized planetarium located in the Kotturpuram suburbs of Chennai city. The planetarium is an integral part of Periyar Science and Technology Centre. The planetarium was built in the memory of the leading industrialist and visionary of India, B.M. Birla. Birla Planetarium is a fully computerized planetarium featuring an audio video sojourn of the cosmic space.

     The Arignar Anna Zoological Park, also known as the Vandalur Zoo, is located in Vandalur, on GST Road. Vandalur is about 8 km from Tambaram and about 33 km from Chennai Central Railway Station. Founded in 1855, the Arignar Anna Zoological Park was the first public zoo in India.

     Anna Nagar Tower is officially known as the Vishweshwaraya tower park. It is built for the 1968 World Trade Fair. The majestic tower in the middle the park by itself is one of the largest in the city. It has cyclic stairs. Full view of the city can be seen from Top of the Tower. With beautiful landscaped lawns and tracks, the park provides an ideal setting for spending a leisure evening with family.
